Maison De L’Orb is that rare thing...An intimate chambre de hote in the beautiful, sunny tranquil town of Beziers, South West France.

Breakfast is served daily offering a continental style breakfast with home made pastries, fresh fruit, homemade preserves, breads, muesli, homemade granola, yoghurt, and poached fruits. You may wish to indulge in our full English breakfast cooked to order.

Our dining area can cater to your needs. It enjoys splendid views over the garden and River Orb and there is an imposing open fireplace where we spit roast locally caught fish and game.

We can also offer a four course evening menu of tempting dishes prepared fresh daily from locally sourced and organic ingredients wherever possible. We offer regional specialities and there are vegetarian and vegan options on request. Barbecues and a delicious afternoon tea are a speciality. Sample menus upon request - all food is home-made. The food is complemented by wine from our young but developing cellar.

Each day is different and when the weather is hot and sunny we offer many events in our very own private garden overlooking the river. We offer wine tasting and complimentary appetiser’s, you can chat to the owners and other guests, plan the next day’s events or maybe wish to source further information on buying your own French property.

Beziers
Beziers is oozing with history and has a surprising number of attractions including parks and gardens, museums, art galleries, theatres and bars, and restaurants serving delicious local cuisine.

Beziers is not just a magnificent larder; its chefs also have flair. A number of young chefs, some of whom have “come down” from Paris to rediscover the taste of local products, have shown real genius in updating the Languedoc’s gastronomic heritage.

Unlike some destinations for a city break in Europe, Béziers does not have huge crowds, inflated prices and a mob of foreign tourists descending on it. This small city, with its stunning cathedral and fabulous Canal du Midi, has a more peaceful charm, so that you can walk the historic streets without being crushed. Béziers is surrounded by some of the prettiest countryside in southern France and is just a few miles from the Mediterranean coast, making it a perfect base for holidays in the south of France.

The city is also within easy access to Carcassonne, Site, Adge and Narbonne. Languedoc-Roussillon is typically Mediterranean - hot dry summers, rain in the short winter with moderate springs and autumns.

Location
Situated facing the River l'orb and by Pont Vieux, a highlight of a summer stay is sitting in the garden having a pre-pandial drink, and watching the sunset on the horizon.

We are a mere ten minute walk to the centre of the town where there is an array of shops and cafes to tempt you.

We are open all year round for accomodation.

How To Reach Us

Airport: Beziers Cap d'Agde

Railway: Gare De Beziers is located approximately a ten-minute walk away with connecting trains to Barcelona, Carcassonne, Narbonne, Nimes, Montpelier, Paris and Perpignan.

Car: Exit (Sortie) 34 from the A9 Autoroute. At the traffic lights go straight on following the signs to the Gare and Narbonne. Pass in front of the Gare and continue until you approach the traffic lights. Go through the lights, the road veers to the left. Get into the left hand lane. Take the third left signposted "Maison de Associations". Continue down to the bottom where you will will see the River Orb. Follow the road round to the right, under a bridge and to the next right turn. Turn right and the building immediately on your left is Maison De L'Orb.

If coming from the direction of Narbonne, pass over the bridge over the River Orb and take the first right, quite sharp, take the next right turn and continue to the River Orb as above.

Rooms

We have five tastefully decorated en-suite bedrooms. The bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms have recently been renovated to the highest standard. Each room has its own character and decoration. Many original paintings adorn the walls and the rooms have a home from home feel. One bedroom has a private terrace. The décor is simple, original tile flooring, exposed stonework and beams, lime washed walls and simple white wash paint, French style beds and original shutters with cotton flow drapes to hide the midday sun.

Breakfast Dining

We offer an informal breakfast of hot drinks, cereals, granola, juices, pastries, yoghurt, meats and cheese and fruit for guests looking for a quick fix and for those with less time to linger in the morning. The garden is the perfect place to enjoy a late morning or afternoon snack. Barbecues are also a regular feature during the summer months.

We can provide pick up from Beziers airport - €20 single journey €35 return journey payable in advance.

Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement though please note we do have one older boxer dog in residence. Dogs are welcomed with a doggie towel and a bag of biscuits and are charged at €5 per dog per night.
